Dear Ellie - Bill Louda donated this scan of the plaque that was given to  Ellie Hope in 1994. The story here is: Ellie; accompanied by Bill Louda, Dave Browning, John Johnson and Bill Gurney; went to a Royal Palm Beach Council Meeting to protest their proposal to use property at the SW corner of Folsom and Okeechobee Blvd. for their city vehicle and maintenance (basically, they didn't want it in the village but it was OK to put in our community). As each speaker gets 3 minutes, between Ellie and us we spoke against this proposal for about 15 minutes. Following this, Vice-Mayor David Lodwick said to then Mayor Tony Masilotti - (paraphrasing-it has been over 10 years) "That's it!  I make a motion that we drop this idea, I do not want to deal with Ellie Hope nor the Sons of Ellie Hope."  The Sons of Ellie Hope moniker that he hung on us made us quite proud and during a community get together at the Yearty's, then at F and North, we gave Ellie this plaque.
