First, this is a privately

Thanks for stopping by.
The Town of Loxahatchee Groves
is a small community encompassing 12.5 square
miles (7,800 acres) and has an estimated population of over 3,000. It is located in Palm Beach County about 15 miles west of I-95
near Royal Palm Beach on the
north side of Southern Blvd (US-441/SR-80). The Acreage is to the North
and West while the Village of Wellington is to the South.
Loxahatchee Groves
affectionately called "The Groves" had its origins in 1917 and was
primarily oriented around producing citrus. Loxahatchee is a very large
area that includes several communities as well as wildlife and other natural
preserves. Loxahatchee Groves was recognized as a South Florida
district by the State Legislature in 1917 and Groves was added to the name to
differentiate it from other surrounding areas. Once the "Last
Frontier", The Groves has been surrounded by urban development. We
voted to incorporate in 2006 with the objective of having more control on our
future.
The Groves Today
The Groves has a long rural
history and many residents still cling to those ideals
but a continuing influx
of more sophisticated urban oriented residents is rapidly changing the town's
character. A long time
attitude of "Love-it-and-leave-it Alone" is allowing what
some think is a vocal minority to dictate changes many do not want but are
unwilling to step up and say so.
The community continues to
be primarily a collection of various home based agricultural pursuits, equestrians, private homes, and a few public businesses. Shopping
centers, grocery stores, gas stations, and other "essentials" are located
nearby in Royal Palm Beach or Wellington. Plans are in place to
build additional commercial businesses along our southern border and potentially
a new town center along Okeechobee. Nearby medical facilities are some of the best. Click

"Rules" of the Road
Loxahatchee Groves'
roads are narrow and many are still dirt with
a drainage canal on one side. Horses, children, and animals are often on or very
near the roadway. Please remember:
